Tufts Epsilon Materials Institute

Advancing Materials for Sustainable Energy

Charging Faster, Lasting Longer

Tufts Epsilon Materials Institute is an interdisciplinary initiative established with an $11.5 million sponsorship from Epsilon Group, a global leader in advanced battery materials and sustainable manufacturing.

Our research team is dedicated to driving sustainable innovation, advancing the demand for next-generation energy solutions, and contributing to a circular economy. Guided by the vision of Epsilon Group managing director and Tufts alumnus Vikram Handa, E01, the institute is a leading academic hub for advanced materials science and engineering, with a focus on clean energy and battery innovation.

A look inside the lab of Assistant Professor Graham Leverick offers some of the promising advances that may come from the study of batteries at the molecular level.
